Taekwondo is a Korean Military Martial Art. Founded on 11th April 1955 by General Choi Hong Hi (IX Degree). The name Taekwondo can be split into three separate parts... "Tae" meaning hand, "Kwon" meaning foot and "Do" meaning the art of or the way of. Therefore, Taekwondo is the Art of Hand and Foot Fighting and is renowned for its head height, spinning and jumping kicking techniques.

Developing from its origins in the thick of the Japanese occupation of Korea to being the official martial-art utilised by Korean Military Forces today. Its purposeful and precise techniques make it a complex and highly efficient fighting art. The sport also improves flexibility, physical fitness, self-control and confidence. These key aspects makes it one of the most popular martial arts in the world!
